“Leadership is the capacity to influence others through inspiration motivated by a passion, generated by a vision, produced by a conviction, ignited by a purpose”. Dr. Myles Munroe

Ugwumba Movement

The source of inspiration in leadership is passion. This component of leadership called passion is what Hon Ugwumba Uche Nwosu possesses. This component is the heart of influence which generates the energy of followers. This energy fuels the passionate commitment of followers to their leader against all political opposition, political adversity, and political discouragement and so on. The followers remain resolute with their leader all the way. This is the kind of support Hon Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has been destined to enjoy from his supporters.

Passion in leadership is the discovery of a deep desire born out of a conviction that renders one possessed by commitment to a purpose. This passion in leadership is what Hon Ugwumba Uche Nwosu possesses.
In my few encounters with Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, I discovered that he is one politician who has the willingness to sacrifice personal advantage, comfort and advancement for the sake of a noble cause that impacts the masses. This trait as seen in Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, I guess, drives the passion for what he does which is extra ordinary. This passion attracts lots of followers to him. These followers love him and are ready to support him to any level of leadership in this country anytime and any day.

According to Dr Myles Munroe, “the source of true passion is the discovery of a clear sense of purpose and significance”, this passion produces the energy to pursue any political goal. This same passion is what inspires other people to want to join in the pursuit of whatever goal.

As people are inspired, their thinking and their actions are naturally influenced. This inspiration never came as a result of manipulation or being brainwashed. It came because the people believed in him. They believe in his invitation to join in the pursuit of something higher and better. They believe in the sense of meaning and significance of what he has given to them thus the birth of UGWUMBA MOVEMENT.

Swearing-In ceremony of the Director General of Ugwumba Movement – Hon Mac-Anthony Chibuike Ahamefule (Odigonma)

He is loved in Eziama-Obaire, his community. He is loved in his Nkwerre LGA. Everyone in his Federal Constituency made up of Nkwerre-Nwangele-Isu and Njaba Local Government Area talk about him and admires him.

Leaders are often ordinary people who accept their destiny when placed in an extraordinary circumstance that brings forth their latent potentials, producing a character that inspires confidence within others. This is why we should not be surprise whenever he is called upon to lead his people in any position of leadership anytime in the future because they have all seen in him a dynamic and purposeful leader thus they want to enjoy his effective and purposeful leadership.
This cannot be accomplished by a visionless leader but a leader who is ahead of his time and looks to the future; one who does not only dream, but has a true vision and follows the right development path – a leader who will definitely lead his people to a better future.

I have in my few years of reading and research as a student politician, activist, unionist, student leader as well as an emerging youth leader, found out that once an aspiring leader discovers a purpose, and stays true to it, definitely it becomes a passion. This passion inspires and influences others personally and wholeheartedly to embrace the leader’s purpose. These people end up allowing the leader to guide them in the specific direction of the vision, which brings great political changes.

A true leader should possess an original vision which is dear to his heart which can enable him to grasp the future. A visionary leader should be able to adhere to his vision, fully confident that he can see things that his followers may not be able to see. He should be certain that his vision can and will fulfill his set goals.

A true and sincere leader should be ready to accept criticism of his vision and as well be very much prepared to defend his vision despite being criticized for such vision thus be able to convince his followers of the impact, validity and importance of his vision.
Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s passion and vision are so noble that it will impact positively not only on his beautiful autonomous community of Eziama-Obaire, or his cherished Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State. The positive impact of his passion and visions goes beyond Orlu zone and Imo State. It is a vision that will transform not just the South East but as well bring tremendous changes to the Nigerian polity.

History has shown us that there are different types of leaders, most of who were propelled to notoriety by events and circumstances and were categorized as leaders by history. The rare type of leader is the one who uses his astuteness, intelligence, and leadership skills to produce events that shapes life and consequently, history. The most gifted leader is however, one who does not shape only the present, but a good part of the future as well like Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has done, yes indeed he is a movement, Ugwumba is a Movement.
