Umunwokwe is one of the many villages that made up the beautiful Autonomous Community of Eziama Obaire which is one of the Communities in Nkwerre Local Government Area of Imo State. Nkwerre LGA is an ancient kingdom known for its craft, hospitality, intelligence, wisdom and wealth.
Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was born on the 8th day of August, in the year of our Lord 1975 into the family of Late Rev. Daniel Nwaobi Nwosu and Mrs. Jemaimah Nwosu.
Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu had his primary education at the Shehu Sanda Kerimi Primary School Maiduguri between 1982 and 1988. This was followed by his secondary school education at the Government Secondary School, Gubia, Borno State and Comprehensive Secondary School Eziama-Obaire, Nkwerre LGA of Imo State.
He sat for the West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination at Comprehensive Secondary School Eziama-Obaire Nkwerre LGA of Imo State and came out in flying colours. In 1995, Hon. Uche Nwosu secured admission into Imo State University, Owerri where he studied Urban and Regional Planning. At Imo State University, he pursued his studies with zeal and commitment from 1995 to the year 2000 when he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning.
During his time in the University, Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu played an active role in Student politics and Unionism. The active role he played in Student Union Government politics of Imo State University culminated in his being elected the very first Students Union Government Director of Transport.
Hon. Ugwumba Uche Nwosu’s active role in Student’s politics and unionism did not end with his election as the very first Director of Transport IMSU, as he was appointed the Secretary, Student Union Government Caretaker Committee. Hon. Uche Nwosu went further to become the secretary of Imo State Students, as well as the Director of Mobilization, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS Zone B).
Hon Uche Nwosu’s active participation in Student politics and Unionism provided him the opportunity of coming in contact with various political and business leaders in Nigeria among who is, His Excellency Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha, the Rescue Mission Governor of Imo State (2011-2015, 2015-2019).
This encounter with this detribalized and visionary Nigerian leader and businessman of great repute, a philanthropist per excellence, educationist and humanitarian was something that can never be forgotten. Hon. Uche Nwosu’s contact with His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha as a student leader and his careful understanding of this visionary Nigerian political leader made him to totally belief in Owelle’s capability and capacity to emerge as the leader that will solve the numerous leadership issues in Nigeria
There is no doubt that in determining the names that immensely have contributed to the success of the Rescue Mission Government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha in Imo State, Hon. (Chief) Uche Nwosu (MNITP, FCAI, Ugwumba Gburugburu), contributed effectively and efficiently that today the name Ugwumba Uche Nwosu is a household name, more popular than imagined.
